Report on Guru Purnima Celebration
Guru Purnima was celebrated with great devotion and reverence at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Hut Bay on 29 July, 2026. The programme commenced at 9:00 a.m. with the chanting of three Omkaras followed by Shanti Path, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere.
The ceremonial lamp lighting was performed by the dignitaries like Shri. Bidyut Roy, Pradhan, GP Netaji Nagar, Shri. Santhosh Kumar, Assistant Engineer, Panchayat Samiti, Little Andaman and SMC Chairperson Shri. Sudhakar with Vice Chairperson Shri. P. Raj Kumar and other Well wishers.
The students then presented soulful Guru Bhajans, expressing their gratitude and respect towards the Guru.
The programme featured two inspiring speeches. The first was delivered by one of our teachers Puja Halder Didi, who highlighted the importance of a Guru in shaping one's life and character. The second speech was delivered by Kumari. Hiya Sandesh, a student of Class VIII, who spoke about the significance of Guru Purnima and the values taught by our Gurus.
The dignitaries addressed the gathering with their valuable and motivating messages, inspiring everyone to follow the path of knowledge, discipline, and righteousness. Thereafter, all present together chanted Omkaras eleven times, filling the surroundings with positive vibrations.
As a mark of respect and devotion, students and teachers offered flowers to portrait of Om. The celebration concluded with gratitude and devotion, and the programme came to an end at 10:30 a.m.
