 National Sports Day Celebration

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Hut Bay observed National Sports Day on 29th August 2025 during the morning assembly, commemorating the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary hockey player who brought immense glory to the nation. The event aimed to highlight the significance of sports and fitness in students' lives.

The assembly began with the school prayer, followed by a brief introduction about the importance of the day. The entire school gathered in unity to honor one of India’s greatest sporting icons.

As part of the celebration, Kaushalya Ma’am addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech on how sports play a vital role in developing discipline, teamwork, and leadership qualities among students. She encouraged everyone to embrace physical activities and make fitness a daily habit.

Following her, G. Kalyani Ma’am, our Physical Education Teacher, delivered an engaging and motivational speech. She shed light on the remarkable achievements of Major Dhyan Chand and his invaluable contributions to Indian hockey. She emphasized the benefits of sports in maintaining mental and physical well-being and urged students to actively participate in school sports events and games.




After the speeches, Swapna Sardar Ma’am led the students and teachers in a Sportsmanship Pledge. Everyone took an oath to uphold the values of honesty, discipline, respect, and fairness in all sporting and life activities.

To honor the legacy of Major Dhyan Chand, a flower offering ceremony was conducted. Teachers and students came forward to offer flowers at his portrait, paying heartfelt tribute to the hockey legend and his enduring contribution to Indian sports.

The program concluded with applause and a collective resolve by students to lead healthy, active lives while upholding the true spirit of sportsmanship. The celebration left everyone inspired to embrace the values of dedication and discipline, both on and off the field.

 Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration

Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with immense devotion and enthusiasm at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Hut Bay on 27th August 2025. The celebration, held in the school hall, began at 9:30 a.m., bringing together  a total of 117 participants, including students, parents, well-wishers, and staff for a spiritually uplifting and culturally vibrant gathering.

The event commenced with the chanting of three Omkaras, followed by the Shaanti Paath and Aikya Mantra. These sacred chants created a serene and divine ambiance, invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesha and setting the tone for the celebration.
                                                                                              

The festivities continued with the singing of devotional bhajans, which filled the hall with joy and spiritual energy, fostering a deep sense of devotion and unity. After the bhajans, the Aarti was performed with great reverence, and everyone participated with heartfelt devotion.


  

A special highlight of the event was the recognition of talent through the Ganesh Idol Making Competition for Classes III to VIII. The winners were awarded prizes and certificates, which added an element of joy and motivation to the celebration.    

 




                                                            
                       

The program concluded with the distribution of Prasad to students and staff, marking the end of a memorable and spiritually enriching event. The celebration wrapped up at 11:00 a.m., leaving everyone with a profound sense of unity, joy, and fulfillment.

 Samadhi Diwas of Ma. Eknath Ji Ranade

On 22nd August 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Hut Bay, solemnly commemorated the Samadhi Diwas of Ma. Eknath Ji Ranade, the visionary founder of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra, through a meaningful and heartfelt assembly.

The program began with a devotional song, “Hum Anuyayi Eknath Ke”, beautifully performed by the students. The song’s soulful melody created an atmosphere of reverence and devotion, setting a serene and reflective tone for the event.
This was followed by an inspiring speech delivered by our Principal sir Shri. S. Rajkumar, who highlighted the extraordinary life and ideals of Mananeeya Eknath Ji Ranade. He spoke about Ma. Eknath Ji’s unwavering discipline, his commitment to selfless service, and his immense dedication to the upliftment of the nation. The principal concluded by encouraging everyone to draw inspiration from Ma. Eknath Ji’s life and to pledge themselves to work sincerely and with dedication for the betterment of society.

As a mark of respect, students and teachers offered floral tributes at the portrait of Shri Eknath Ji Ranade. This gesture reflected the school community’s deep gratitude and admiration for his noble contributions and visionary leadership.

The assembly concluded with a silent prayer, leaving everyone present inspired and motivated to follow the path of dedication, service and commitment demonstrated by Shri Eknath Ji Ranade.

Krishna Janmashtami Celebration

 

Krishna Janmashtami Celebration @ VKV Hutbay

 

Vivekananda  Kendra Vidyalaya, Hut Bay celebrated the joyous festival of Krishna Janmashtami on 16th August 2025 between 9.30 am and 11.30 am with boundless enthusiasm and devotion. The event saw an energetic and heartwarming gathering of total participants of 144  (48 parents and well  wishers, 80 students and 16 staff), all come together to honor the divine birth of Lord Krishna through spiritual and cultural festivities.

The celebration began with the chanting of the three Omkaras, creating a serene and sacred ambiance that set the tone for the day. This was followed by the Shaanti Paath, invoking peace and harmony, and the Aikya Mantra, symbolizing unity and oneness. These spiritual chants connected everyone deeply to the essence of the occasion.

 

 Soulful Bhajans and Songs

The air was filled with devotion as students and staff sang beautiful bhajans like "Radhe Radhe" and "Gopala Gopala Re" with immense fervor and reverence. The songs celebrated the playful and loving nature of Lord Krishna, leaving everyone in a state of divine bliss.

 Fancy Dress Competition

A highlight of the celebration was the Fancy Dress Competition, where students brought the spirit of Krishna and Radha to life.

  • Balvatika 1 to Balvatika 3 students charmed the audience with their adorable costumes and innocent expressions, embodying the divine characters beautifully.

  • Class 1 and Class 2 students elevated the competition with dialogue delivery, enacting iconic scenes from Krishna’s childhood, like stealing butter and lifting Govardhan hill.
Cultural Dance Performances

Adding to the festivities, students from Class 1 and Class 2 performed vibrant cultural dances based on Krishna Leela. Their energetic and colorful performances were a visual treat, earning hearty applause from the audience.

To recognize creativity and participation, prizes were distributed for various competitions:

79th Independence Day Celebration

 79th Independence Day Celebration


Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Hut Bay, celebrated the 79th Independence Day on 15th August 2025 with immense patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. There were 127 total participants, including students, staff and parents.
The day began with a vibrant Prabhat Pheri, where students and teachers marched through the nearby areas, raising patriotic slogans.

The main program commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, led by our Principal Shri. S. Rajkumar. As the tricolor unfurled against the sky, the entire gathering stood in reverence to sing the national anthem, which resonated with pride and devotion, uniting everyone in the shared spirit of patriotism.

Students showcased their talent and love for the country through two beautifully performed patriotic songs:

  •  “Chandan Hai Is Desh Ki Maati”
  •      “Saare Jahan Se Achha”


The melodious renditions touched everyone’s hearts, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of India and the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters.

A major highlight of the celebration was a speech delivered by Aaradhya, a student of Class V. Her words stirred a sense of pride and responsibility among the audience. Following her speech, she led the gathering in taking a heartfelt oath:

"We are always loyal and sincere to our motherland."

The event concluded with the distribution of sweets, spreading joy and smiles among students, teachers, and attendees.

A team of Indian Coast Guard personnel, led by Chief Officer Shri Shubham Kumar, visited our Vidyalaya as honored guests. Participants: 85 Students, 15 Parents, 5 Well-Wishers and 17 Staff Members 

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Hutbay, celebrated the auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan with great enthusiasm and cultural fervor in the Vidyalaya Hall. The event brought together students, parents, staff, and well-wishers, making it a heartwarming occasion filled with moments of bonding and reflection on traditional values.

The program began with the chanting of Three Omkaras and the Shanti Path and Ekyamantra, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere. This was followed by a brief introduction to the significance of Raksha Bandhan, highlighting its core message of love, protection, and unity. 
The importance of the festival was beautifully explained by the teachers, connecting it to the values of mutual respect, brotherhood and harmony.


Students then tied rakhis on each other’s wrists, symbolizing the bond of protection and care. They also extended the gesture to their teachers, parents, and well-wishers, creating a sense of inclusivity and togetherness. The act of tying rakhis was accompanied by heartfelt prayers and blessings, encouraging everyone to embrace the spirit of giving and gratitude.

On 8th August 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Hutbay celebrated Raksha Bandhan with warmth and enthusiasm, fostering connections with the HoDs and HoOs of key offices in Little Andaman. This unique initiative aimed to strengthen bonds and promote cultural values among the younger generation.

Health Awareness Program

Health Awareness Session by PHC, Hut Bay

Total No  of Participation : 94 Students + 10 teachers

A team of medical staff led by Dr. Subrato Sikder from the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Hut Bay, conducted a session on Hand Washing and Personal Hygiene (Prevetive measure of Diarrhea) for Balvatika 1 to Class V students.

During the session, one of the PHC Staff, Smt. Sagarika Mistry, 

* Demonstrated the 7 steps of hand washing.

* Introduced personal hygiene habits, such as brushing teeth, bathing daily, and wearing clean clothes.

The interactive session was engaging, informative, and left a lasting impact on students' daily hygiene practices. The medical staff's visit was a valuable experience, combining education with entertainment.
